Edinburgh Castle form the Grassmarket – Pencil and watercolour

This is the view of the castle from one of the oldest parts of Edinburgh, the Grassmarket. This area was once a place to trade goods, for many to live in and was the spot where executions took place. For years it was one of the most run down parts of the city but, for the past 20 or so years, it has become a place to visit, to look into the past and to enjoy food and drink. Worth visiting if only for the huge outdoor market which now takes place.
