Even the Heavens weep – Watercolour
After a lovely spell of sunny weather a trip to a nearby village saw clouds gathering in more ways than one. I was last in this area towards the end of last year and now, am astonished to see an “instant village” in the shape of about 75 new houses in a field. Even the grass and shrubs are “instant” and some houses are already occupied. Don’t get me wrong. Everyone need a roof over their head but these are selling for about £240k and they are all identical, only their orientation changes occasionally. Presumably this is to assist owners find their way home after work or a night in the pub. God! I’m getting grumpy in my old age. Anyone want to join me?

Uncle Bob, I am joining you! This sounds SO much like my part of Colorado- urban sprawl, similar prices, all look alike, on top of one another, no character. Not for me. But I like your painting!!! I think I would like to be your neighbor.

Hi Candace. Not sure whether to laugh or cry to hear that it’s the same where you are. I once had a visit, from a colleague who had been teaching in Australia for two years. She has just returned and was wandering around the school to say hello to folks. After she had been in my class for a couple of minutes the youngsters started to become too chatty, making more and more noise. I calmed them down and apologised. She told me not to worry. Its the same in Australia. A bit like this situation. Oh no! The world, as we know it is ending.
