  I’m also not that much of a Talens expert to say exact year. They had only 2 designs within last 30 years or so. I think they updated design around 2003 when I left Holland. Judging from your description your set would be older one (old logo, no colour number). In those days (if I recall well) they had 4 price classes, while now they only have 3. I think the quality of the paints (although almost the same) could have been a bit higher before – which is generally applicable to all brands (According to “Handprint” also true for W&N) Age doesn’t affect the vividness and quality of paints – so not to worry!
