Gayish fishy sausage hovering over sleepy rat.
Trying-out my brand new Rembrandt 48x ½ pans set from the metal box – what-er-colours – what else?

Tahnks Nikira and good luck with you new Rembrandt 24. Actually, it is (24) more than enough. Most colours you miss from 48 – 24 are just for lazy people who prefer not to mix colours much. Shoot your questions whenever ready.
Good thing is that you get Cerulean Blue (PB 35 one of my favs) which is next to impossible to imitate with other pigments (closest is PB36) and by far the best sky colour ever…
What I can say is that they are really:
1. Transparent (very)
2. Bright and brilliant
3. Rich in pigment
Personally, much superior to favorised (by others) and more expensive W&N or Schmincke (who both have one or two good colours but lack even quality through the whole range) (please visit: http://handprint.com/HP/WCL/ )
I paid mine at Jackson’s Art for just under £100 and yours should have been between 50-60.
I must add though that quality of the metal box is down as compared to my (very) old 12 box and that “same” colours are somewhat different then they used to be (now burnt umber is less trensparent, olive green less intense etc.) I guess, to keep competitiveness, they compromised a bit. Still, they are the best value (and for me quality+pleasure). ALL paints have colour-fastness 100+ years!!!

… and yes, their cadmium pigments (especially reds) are unbeatable!
