This is something I enjoy the most. It is usually done with vague or no planning. Rough sketch of something that may become a subject and then fairly low concentration on painting (this one is done during foursome evening conversation with coffee and biscuits), pretty much the same automatic absent-minded work similar to that of my ink doodling during meetings. Once in a while I look for intermediate result and decide upon changing direction, adding stuff etc.
However, there is some concentration on technique in particular in finalising stage. Usually gives best results due unpredictability, I guess?! There, I said it all…
