Chelsea, Manhattan. Drew with bunch of Kuretake pens and ink on watercolor paper. Open new water brush, green color with big barrel, Kuretake. I love green color, the color of my daughter’s eyes.
Nikira, you seem to be switching to the Kuretake pens, and I was wondering why you like in them. Are they that much faster or are you just interested in the colors? I tried an ArtKure sepia brush once but was indifferent to the performance.
I like everything new and explore it. And it is comfortable to take bunch of pens with you on a go. This pens have endless possibilities. It is faster and less mess than paints. A lot of colors premixed. It sits nicely in your hands. People pay less attention when you use pens. I am fascinated by Japanese art materials. I saw few videos on Youtube about ArtKure and intrigued. Want to try it.
Also forgot to tell you, some Kuretake pens have dual points, one thicker brush, the other thin for details. Other brushes have one end brighter, the other lighter from the same color, different saturation, very good for quick experiment. Another thing some is water soluble, some not. I will try to post more experiments. Huge versatility.
