A New Year, same old Brrrr scenes – Watercolour
This is intended to complement yesterday’s scene which showed the last hours of 2010. This was the view, from our village, at 9.00am today as we looked over the south side of Edinburgh. This is roughly east, south-east and the sun tends to rise under any cloud giving vivid colours for a short time around dawn. I think I got today’s hues accurately but, of course, my judgement might have been impaired as I was viewing this through celebratory eyes. Perhaps the view might change as I begin to waken up. Perhaps it’s time for a wee sleep. Happy 2011.

Wow! A new year and all these nice comments. Thank you all so much. I really enjoy doing my snowy scenes and am so glad you all enjoy them. Its a pity all the snow seems to be vanishing over here but we should get more soon so I can continue to do my favourite stuff. If not I can rely on the many photos I took recently. Have a look if you have a few hours:

Oh My God Bob this is so so beautiful. Your scenes and your descritpions are an joy to behold ( you are like an talented Scottish Wainright). I would love to have a book with all your scapes and your words all bound up together- what joy that would bring.

I have just mispunched Wainwright- I am doomed forever.

Jings Anne. You are not comparing me with the great Alfred Wainwright. I could NEVER do stuff like him but thanks for the thought. My greatest ambition is to use all these scenes (some are not in Moleskines) and put them into a small exhibition. My wife Margaret says she will pay for setting this up as a special birthday present when I turn 65 in a couple of years. I better start practising.
