Frozen Union Canal near Craiglockhart, Edinburgh – Watercolour

The freeze continues but we expect a thaw in the middle of next week. The canal is a great way to get between different parts of the city either by boat or by walking/cycling on the old towpath. Not much chance of cycling these days as the ground is covered by frozen snow. I’ve tried to show this scene with the canal in a deep gorge filled with freezing fog. Its quite magical because if you look upwards the blue sky lies above the darker stuff. Hope you get the idea and are warmer than I was when walking here.
