Thanks, Ziza. Dark side, indeed. Everyone in the neighborhood is asleep, and I can play.
Hey,Z! My son is going to be in your neighborhood, just across the pond, in Florence for 5 months. He’s going to hang out in art school there for a semester, then off to Tel Aviv for another 5 months.
I really like the graphic quality of it. And extremely interested in your etching technique, I wish I can try it too. I don’t have a press.
So in 5 months your son would be my sister’s neighbor.
Marty, has your memory also gone to the dark side? You’ve already told me that and I did reply in detail here: http://www.skineart.com/art/14879/bobs-postcard-in-watercolour/#comments
I’m glad he’d go there. It’s a life-time opportunity. You should find time (and loads of money) and visit him (and me) during his stay. Here, you’d be my guest. My GUESS is as good as yours!
Ziza, I never saw that entry. I have been to Florence before with my family, briefly and many years ago. Josef, my son was 10 years old then. Honestly, I could simply sit outside at a cafe with some coffee, and watch life go by. That would make me very happy. I was less impressed by the art that I have grown up looking at in books, than I was with all of the fascinating things in galleries and around town that I had never seen before. There is a small room next to Michaelangelo’s David filled like a grocery store with nearly endless marbles. Each sculpture more beautiful than the next. I wanted to go down the isles with my grocery cart and pick my favorites to bring home with me. I didn’t notice that the town was messy. I was to busy looking elsewhere.
I know that Sienna is part of Josef’s itinerary, I don’t know where else he will go. He’s a young man this time. Let’s see what he makes of it.
Unless I win the lottery, I will not be visiting him there. Some day Ziza, I will take you up on your offer.
That’s right, Nikira. Excuse me. He has been in the area before. He and his sister went to Alexander Muss High School in Israel, in Hod Hasharon for a semester of high school. This time will be different. He will live as n adult in Tel Aviv, go to work each day and play at night. He will be there starting in December.

Love it Marty. Very tranquil actually, like a quiet summer night.
