the nightmare book begins… tell me yours and i just might add it (my mind is blank…). the first one of these i did for arthouse had the theme of “fear”. i asked everyone i met what there biggest fear was. from that list i started drawing my interpretations of those fears.

Here’s mine, Joe…
A few years ago I had an incredibly vivid dream where I’ve killed my father. Stubbed him in the stomach with a huge knife.
Found myself sitting on the bed immediately after that, heart racing a million miles, hyperventilating, cold sweat. Took me a few long minutes to figure out where I am and realize that it was just a horrible dream. The feeling or RELIEF was unbelievable.
Worst. Nightmare. Ever.

James has (a somewhat irrational) fear of wearwolves – could be something fun to draw

My daughter’s nightmare I wanted to draw, never got to : alive scare crows, bleeding, jumping from the sticks, approaching the house of chinese man. Kinda cool and surreal.

Losing the use of my hands (or more dramatically losing my hands in a freak accident) and sitting in front of all my pens, pencils and paints and not being able to draw – ever again. Sounds like a nightmare to me! Look forward to seeing whatever you come up with.

whoa, some interesting ideas, and my recurring dream of a heavy demon sitting on my chest choking me out now seems kinda lame.

I have a recurring dream where all of my teeth fall out. Sometimes I’m talking to someone and I can push all my teeth out with my tongue. Other times in my dream, I wake up in bed to find all my teeth on the pillow beside me. Love your art, hope you can work this in

I have a dream that I am standing on an old dock piling above the clouds. A pelican lands on the piling knocking me off and I fall. I have never made it past the clouds before the dream is over.
Creepy idea for a theme book… I look forward to it.

I had a nightmare where I was walking through the woods with people I knew. Everyone was having a good time except me. I saw wild animals tracking our group, poised to pounce. Everyone ignored my warnings and laughed at me. But there were panthers behind those trees!

My worst nightmares consist of me waking up to find that I am a dismembered torso, no legs, no arms, just the trunk of my body and my head. I am deathly afraid of losing use of my limbs due to hereditary arthritis, so I guess my nightmares seem to be going to an extreme about that theme. Also… trying to yell out for someone to find me or to wake up and realize I have no vocal chords. Sometimes I have nightmares involving my vocal chords, my voice box ( I am a soprano in my school’s musical theater group)… I either find myself with no voice in a dangerous situation (like being in a fire and the firefighters not finding me because I’m stuck in rubble and they can’t find me), or, in some more frightning instances, having my hands out of my control and them ripping out my voice box, slowly piece by piece. Quite gruesome. Glad to help, I love your drawings!
