A little map I made of an exquisitely beautiful walk I took in the Sagano district of Arashiyama, Kyoto. It is a preservation district and a little off the beaten tourist path, but well worth the time and effort. I want to do this walk again in the fall season.

This is wonderful. I’m sure that you are onto something here, Linda. Just imagine this sort of thing for tourists. You would, I’m sure, be sold out quickly.

Love this sort of map of a particular place. It doesn’t have to be to scale, just very picturesque, as yours is.
There is also something called an “event map” in which you do a more detailed drawing of something in particular that might interest you on your map, and very simple sketches of everything else.
I tend to use either one in some of my sketchbooks.

Uncle Bob, thanks for the nice feedback. I believe I was working from some tourist map of this area when I made this map for myself.
Roseindigigo, I did not know about the event map. Have seen it but didn’t know it had a particular name. I’d like to try that one day. Thanks for the tip.

I’m very fascinated by these maps drawn, everywhere they come from.
Thanks Linda.
