Konpukuji is a temple in Kyoto where I expected to find many cats sunning themselves on the veranda after a rainy day, so I visited on just that kind of day. Only one cat greeter was there for us, but she meowed her greeting right away and led us directly to the entrance fee window. She was extremely affectionate and in desperate need of some petting, so she and I played on the tatami and I took many photos of her. This is a quick drawing of our first glace at her.

I think that “Smug looking” cat is just brilliant. “Cat Greeters” – great! Probably gives a better service than half the assistants in our shops

Thank you Uncle Bob. Obviously you “get” cats!

You are correct, Linda. That’s because I’ve been owned by one for almost 13 years now. Here he is after a leg injury:

He “trained us” to give him treats (his medicine would only be taken if put into his favourite food) Now he is better but suddenly starts to limp again if he fancies something nice.
