Susan, I thought of you on Sunday while I was listening to “Car Talk” on NPR. A woman from Wimberly, Texas called up with a car problem. Apparently her husband (a cowboy) had borrowed her car for the day because his truck was being worked on, and because it was very hot he left the windows on it open, and a horse ATE HER STEERING WHEEL. Apparently horses eat just about anything the same way goats do, or it was looking for salt on the steering wheel. Anyhow, she asked those guys about repairing the thing as cheaply as possible, since the steering wheel contains the air bag and is quite complicated to repair.
It was pretty funny, but it isn’t often you hear the name of Wimberly on the radio.
Haha! That’s pretty funny! I normally listen to Car Talk, but didn’t hear it this weekend. I could recommend a local “shade tree” mechanic to this lady. Just so you know, last year, Good Morning America named a Wimberley woman as “Mother of the Year”. They had a big shindig for her at the local high school. We were on tv! Also, movies are shot around this area too. A new True Grit movie is in the works…coming soon to a theater near you.
This is great – as is Rose’s story. Watching your cowboys reminds me of Woody Guthrie’s “Get along little doggies” Combine this with steering wheel, eating horses and :
Yippy ti yi yo get along little doggies it’s your misfortune and none of my own
I suppose Susan’s cowboys “Typify that Yippy ti” – ouch!!!
