Definitely off the beaten tourist path in northern Kyoto, we discovered this lovely lake and park in between two mountains. After boating on the lake and feeding the many friendly turtles, we walked around the landscaped path to meet the koi, the ducks and the geese. We took a different exit and found much more beautiful recreation area behind the Kyoto Conference Center, a quiet neighborhood and a subway station, so next trip we can get here more conveniently.

I really like this little picture map of a special place you have been to. It’s amazing how, many years later, a little map like this will bring back the memory of the place in perfect clarity. I do a lot of these myself and they are better than any photo album I’ve ever had. And I like your simple style!
