This is a flower called Curcuma in portuguese.
I have a friend that has a huge bush in his backyard.
He is from India and loves curcuma as a spice.
I started the watercolor in spot but ended it with some hilights at home.

This is lovely and an interesting plant study, but I’d like to see the background a much darker green than the leaves. Try it and see.
