hawk – the sketchbooks have a slightly oily texture that makes it a little difficult for watercolour to take to the page. I use alot more water than usual to compensate and really like the effect. I’ve heard some folk add a drop of washing up liquid to your water or even to lightly sand the page but i haven’t tried these.
The pages are thick and don’t bleed through at all.

I’m curious how watercolor works on regular moleskine sketchbooks. does it bleed through the paper?
