I am delighted that you have achieved instant success with this technique. What a beautiful portrait of a lovely lady – its obvious that good looks run in your family. I believe that, as the Silverpoint ages, the different tones begin to stand out more so hang onto this wee masterpiece and look at it often. Its me who should be thanking you for producing this. Bob
Thank you so much, Bob, for sending me this silver pencils. It is completely new challenge. Here I put primer underneath and brushstrokes coming through, and pencils scratched a little. It draws on Moleskine sketch paper even without gesso. It is my first attempt to draw my mother. She died when I was 8 months old. This delicate and sad silver pencils felt so right for this drawing. My mother and my daughter sharing same name and both beautiful. I will try it again.
