Inna and cat. Really frustrating, I started with ink, and planned to add pen, but water brush died on me, so I had to use watercolor on the top of ink wash. Why this water brushes suddenly getting stiff and don’t allow water pass from the barrel? Very painful to part with the brush. I should redo the portrait the way I planned. I have another Pentel.

It could be the ink clogging the waterbrush. Nicely done though.

Kirby, I thought so, but same thing happened to my Water waterbrush. I am soaking it now in the container with water. Do you have any advice?

It could be a mineral build up from the water or maybe even the ink. Soak it in white vinegar for a day or two.
And, your piece is beautiful regardless!

this is very nice tho, i can’t even tell that you had a problem with inking it!

Thank you very much, Lia and Tulipa. I will get white vinegar, have only apple vinegar at home. May be make sense to fill it up with distilled water?

Do you use a Koi waterbrush? I had the same issue a few weeks back, indeed mineral clogging, but nothing helped, I bought a new one.

@renefijten No, Pentel. But I have small Koi too, filled with water, pretty new. I am using 3 at once. I’ll try white vinegar, because I like Pentel tips. Last Pentel died too quick.

Is this your daughter, Nikira? She’s lovely. Must take after her mother. Nice portrait/composition.

Bob, yea. Thank you, not really. She is my source of inspiration, beautiful structure, I am different. Always thought that artist doesn’t have to be man or woman, but human, speaking magic language of visual art.
And I don’t like vodka, like sweet liqueurs and beer.

Wow! Liqueurs and beer chasers. What a woman
