This is an old fashioned sake shop located in Omiya, Japan. I drew it on my lunch break so I didn’t have a great deal of time. In my work, I often overwork the details and I find that I am timid about using color. This was my attempt to consciously try to break away from these tendencies. I used Pitt Art Pen, Copic Multiliner Pen, and Watercolor.

I think you have got it about just right. A charming wee sketch. Welcome to Skineart.

Thanks for your comment and also thanks for setting up and maintaining this website. I’ve been watching for a long time and I’m glad I finally decided to start posting some of my Moleskine artwork too.

Good of you to reply to this but I cannot take any credit for Skineart. This is the brainchild of Leo Gartsbeyn who set the thing up. Some of us have volunteered to be “moderators” who regularly look at the content, posted, and report anything unusual. Because, in my case, I regularly log on I can spot when new folks join us and so have developed the habit of “saying hello”. I hope you will find that everyone here encourages participants to post their artwork and that the comments/feedback always encourages more stuff. In that light I’m sure that I speak for fellow “Skinners” when I say we are looking forward to seeing more of your lovely scenes – Bob McDowall PS in case you haven’t explored the site fully there is a link, in the “forums” page which encourages people to introduce themselves and another one which entices participation in a “Monthly Challenge”
