Thanks Nikira, but I can tell you it was a depressing scene. The chinese takeaway, blue lighted fish&chips shop and a dark brownstone pub behind me did not help.
And honestly, fish and chips, I tried in “England” Epcot, Disney World, was the best! I can only imagine the real one, and beer, and walk same streets as Murdouch and Rendell, even rain would seem romantic.
The linework in this piece is fantastic. I am impressed with your use of color too, especially the bright blue color in the van. It contrasts nicely. How long did it take for you to draw this?
The inkdrawing (standing on location) took me about 10 minutes. I put in a few colours, like notes, with a waterbrush and some watercolours. Unfortunately it started to rain, so I walked to a viaduct nearby for another sketch (which I posted a few days ago). I finished the colours the next day, warm and cozy back home in the Netherlands.

Your sunny brush turns any gray day into happy painting.

Agree with Nikira and a nice sketch with great contrast between the lighter and darker buildings. Depressing in England – surely not?

Chinese takeaway, fish and chips, and a pub, nothing depressing there. Love the feel in this, just enough detail to pull you in and make you explore.

For me it’s great because I can relate to it, it captures that mood when you’re daydreaming out of a car window, waiting for somebody.
