Rock Band drum set. Brush and ink (brown, red, and black) in watercolor Moleskine sketchbook. Color accents in colored roller pen.
Does anyone have a good trick for taking a bottle of India ink with you outdoors without worrying about spilling everywhere? Some kind of stand, holder or tray?

I save plastic bottle caps from 20oz. soda/water bottles. I put a little ink into a cap to dip my pen/brush in, and close the ink bottle back up so it doesn’t spill. When I’m done I just throw the bottle cap away. No cleanup!
BTW, awesome sketch!

I use a similar idea, Stephen, except I have multiple reservoirs which allow me to have different colours or different strengths of one colour:

(and also agree that this is a great sketch)

I like to use a waterbrush. It has a hollow core and nylon(?) bristles. I fill it partially with ink, and the rest with water, depending on how dark I want my blacks. The whole assembly is small and watertight. Just to be safe, I’ll place it in a plastic baggie. But the nice thing is that it’s quite versatile — you can make lines of various widths, or do a complete ink wash.
