Rudat, don’t you ever get tired of your drawing style? Everything you post looks the same. Try something different for a change. Something interesting.

Not sure what you mean by your comment. I personally like her “style”. I liken it to a signature, why change something when you are happy with it.
We all develop our own style when we draw. That is what distinguishes one artists from another. Her subject matter is always changing. If you were to look back on , say Van Gogh, early on he developed his own special techniques in the way he drew and painted. As he continued his brush strokes became bolder but his own style and technique were intact. You might almost say it becomes an artist’s personality. To ask someone to change their personality is asking quite a bit.
Most of us can draw and paint like another artist. In otherwords I can emulate the style of another artistlike Andy Warhol’s Elvis Presley or Botticelli’s Birth of Venice, but that is me showing that I have the ability and craft to paint/draw like someone else. Using your own style and being comfortable with it take courage.
So, once again, not qute sure what you are asking or saying here.
Jota, if you take a look at my blog, you can see lots more diversity. Drawing in the moleskine is a style unto itself. I don’t think many artists can stick to one particular style. It would be counterproductive to growth in creativity. Thank you for commenting! http://susanrudat.blogspot.com/
Everyone is, of course, entitled to their own opinion but the day I cease to get continued inspiration and pleasure from Susan’s entries will be the day I am six feet under.
well put , Bob! Susan, i enjoy your work each and every time. your style caught my eye the first time i saw it, and continues to impress me. My hat is also off to you for your professional way in handling the comment. Keep doing what you do so well!
I only wish my style was consistant. its all over the place. I also love how you can just about draw anything you see. I on the other hand am only good with certain objects and others I end up falling short.
