Looking towards Ratho Village from Ratho Mains Farm – Watercolour in a Watercolour Moleskine
Another scene from Sunday’s walk in the snow. This shows a regular walk from our house which is behind the left hand buildings on the horizon, past the farm then round to the other end of Ratho village. Some of the farm’s history can be accessed from this link to give you an idea of its recent produce.

Beautiful winter wonderland! You were cold last winter, so this winter must be a real challenge to stay warm. Enjoy your wonderful view…from the house.

You are correct, Susan. Its bitterly cold here but, as long as one dresses properly and make sure the house is warm, its survivable. At least the snow has stopped but the clearer skies mean that the temperatures plummets at night. Thanks for the nice comment. Bob

I’m really enjoying all the winter scenes you’ve been sharing with us…the colors give such a nice impression of a cold, clear winter’s day.

Thanks Fabienne. I’m actually obsessed with trees so when someone says they like my efforts it the ultimate compliment

Stephanie – the good thing about snow scenes is you don’t have to paint so much as the white paper does most of the job. To a Scotsman, this saving on paint,is heaven. I even don’t have to draw the tree’s foliage. Thanks for the kind words. I’m going to continue sending this type of thing in as long as my fingers are attached.
