A new year, same old snow – Acrylic and Ink in a Watercolour Moleskine
A guid New Year tae ain and a’. If you are suffering from lack of sleep, or worse, then wrap up warmly, get yourself outside and go for a walk among the trees. This scene was actually photographed a few days ago and Joe Tomlinson suggested it might make a good painting. Here it is Joe. When I photographed this it was very quiet. It was different today, the woods being packed with last night’s revellers doing penance – me included. It seems that the guid folk in Ratho had a good time celebrating the start of the new decade. I hope you all had an equally good time.

Lovely winter scene Bob. Sounds like you’ve had your share of heavy snows in Scotland this yer. Our snow is all melted for the present, with more to come this weekend.

Thanks folks. Yes it is a nice wee walk and good for the soul.
Rose. We too have had a bit of a thaw but not enough to get rid of almost 18 days of stuff lying on the ground. More fell this afternoon and, with the lowish temperatures, will not shift. We do not normally have much snow before the middle/end of January and February so it will be interesting to see what this season brings.

Bob, this is just wonderful. You are the master of winter pictures. You should reconsider playing Sanata again…

Thanks Ziza. You are too kind. As to Santa – I used to like Santa, then I tried playing him, now I AM Santa. Incidentally, “Santa” is an anagram of “Satan”.
