Weihnachtsmarkt (christmasfair) in Aachen, Germany, last sunday evening. It was freezing cold, even the glühwein didn’t work.
Seen from the “Reibekuchen und Backfish” stall towards the 14th century Rathaus (cityhall).

Maybe the wine didn’t work but the painting did. I think the way you have, loosely done this – especially the crowd in the foreground, is “braw”. Hope it wasn’t TOO cold. Was Sinterklaas good for you and your family?

“braw” that’s the first time I hear that word. What does it mean? And yes, thank you, we had a nice Sinterklaas.

Hi Rene. Braw means gaily dressed or gaily shown off. Its generally used to say something is nice.
O gin I were a baron’s heir,
An’ could I braid wi’ gems your hair,
And mak’ ye braw as ye are fair,
Lassie, would ye lo’e me?
An’ could I tak’ ye tae the toun
An’ show ye braw sights mony a ain,
And busk ye wi’ a silken goun,
Lassie, would ye lo’e me?
Oh if I was a hereditary peer
I would give you diamonds for your hair
and gaily dress to to complement your loveliness
Lassie would you love me?
I would take you to the best places
and show you all the sights
and court you by buying you the finest clothes
Lassie would you love me?

Lovely poem. Obviously the first part was written after some glasses of your best whisky.
