I’m posting this one again because I made some changes to it by darkening the shadows and changing the color of the mountain behind the barn. the first posting just looked “unfinished” to me. I like this much better. What do you think?

I had to print the two versions to judge the differences which, in my humble opinion, are small. Certainly the darker shadows DO make a slight difference but, had you not pointed this out, I doubt whether most of us would have noticed. As to the colour of the mountains only you can judge this. Both look fine to me. Remember you mentioned, in an earlier post, that the clear air gave a false impression of aerial perspective and that you are looking for greater colour detail which you must have observed. Maybe this is at the back of your mind. Anyway – both versions are great but I’m glad you are better pleased with the re-worked one. Maybe you are just hanging onto the memories of that great holiday.

Yes, I’m still more pleased with the darker shadows version. As for hanging on to the memories, I’m not sure since I pretty much feel I’m always on vacation since I also live in gorgeous mountain country. In fact, my little dog and I have wandered on many short trips just since being back home. It’s just been much too cold to sit somewhere and sketch, but we’ve done a lot of walking to stay warm.
This morning it was 10 degrees with ice ferns on the car. I love ice ferns!!!

I like with more pronounced shadows better. I think it is more striking. And I am jealous of your walks with dog. I take drives with dog. Because always have limited time. And I wish I can take my cat to draw with me, but its too cold for him, even in sweaters.

Hi,
New here. Need some advice. Well, actually Ms. Boots had five kittens.
My wife gave all except one of them away. According to her she names it., I say I do because I take care of all the others. haha
It is male, not sure that matters, but any suggestions on decent internet sites to find cat names?
thx
